A while back pagan news outlets celebrated the start of ‘The Sabbath Project’ by witch and photographer Allan Spiers. Since then, the public asked for this project to be made into a tarot deck, so over the past year he has been meticulously creating a full 78-card deck with some of the most popular images from the photo project as well as exclusive shots just for the deck! Last week his Kickstarter for the deck released with amazing response and will run until September 30th. This deck celebrates the power and eroticism of male witchcraft, the Divine Masculine, and the folklore surrounding witchcraft through the ages. Not only is this deck filled with potency and stunning artwork, but it teaches the reader how to divine and incorporate the cards into their witchcraft. “ My hope is that not only will it be a piece of art, but a functional tool that is used by my fellow witches, men and women of the Craft, to harness their power and speak to The Fates.” says Allan Spiers on his campaign page. The deck itself will be 88mm x 126mm (roughly 3.5x5in) and will be printed on 400 GSM Art Paper with a high quality soft matte finish to preserve the vividness of the imagery. The cards, hardcover book, and accompanying box will have a gold foil outlined pentagram and each card will contain spot UV details such as the elemental and astrological symbols, and the titles on the Major Arcana. This deck with have a rich matte red edge to enhance the aesthetic lending to its overall witchiness.
